Jade Part 2 I woke up the next morning with sun shining through the gap between my curtains onto the bed where my feet were, making them feel extra warm. I curled up and covered my head with my blankets, reveling in the dark, warm safety of the little world I had created. I lay there for a while, listening to the silence. Suddenly, I heard the door handle turn and the door open slowly, then close behind whoever and decided to intrude on my haven. Footsteps crossed the room in front of my bed and turned left to stand in front of my window. The curtains opened and I felt the warm, late morning sun spill like golden hot chocolate onto the entire bottom halfJade Part 2 by ~no1sees

that I hide behind thick curtains.

There was a time when it was just
you and me.
But those days are over
and I keep reminding myself of your absence.

You're so close yet
so very far away.
The chasm between us is so big
it feels like the Grand Canyon
stretching from me to you

But the weirdest part is seeing someone else take my place.

Seeing someone else walk with you,
talk with you,
do everything with you.

After every empty promise you wrapped in colored paper
and tied with a bow,
I'm left behind once again,
old habits are revisited,

The Wheelchair I've carried him through the toughest times in his life. When he can't stand, I carry him to wherever he needs to go. I'm there for him when he is at his weakest and when he is at his strongest.

But that has all changed now.

The last time I carried him was eight days ago. He had been so strong before but recently he had deteriorated to a ghostly skeleton of a man, light and much too easy to hold. As I carried him into the hospital I could feel his wife's tears fall on my back. I suppose that her tears should have hinted to me that something was terribly wrong, but I thought he would always be here to carry, even though I know that's a sThe Wheelchair by ~no1sees

Thinking of Him He holds my heart and he can do whatever he wants with it. He can neglect it, break it, leave it behind, or he can be careful with it and take care of it. Whatever he chooses to do with it is ok with me. He will always hold at least a part of my heart, no matter what happens, forever and ever. I hope he knows that and never forgets it.

When he looks at me, I can't help but smile a little. (I never thought I'd smile because of a boy's eyes on me.) When our eyes meet and stay locked, it's like my heart grows three sizes too big for the rest of me. And when he sits next to me, I suddenly feel safe and happy and nervous all at the same time. Merry belated Christmas! =D

I hope all four people that will ever read this had an especially merry Christmas. Also, I would like all four people that will ever read this to know that you have my undying love and affection for reading these. I'm going to try to post more, but I've had zero inspiration for writing and I was going to post the self-portrait I drew in drawing class but I forgot it at school and I'm currently on Christmas break. XP Same with the drawing of toys I did.

In other news, I'm turning 16 in about five days.

Yeah buddy!

That means I will be old enough to date. And hopefully a certain someone who said he'd ask me out after I turn 16 still feels the same way about me and remembers when my birthday is. (I'll bet you any money he forgets.)

Also, my brother left to go back to grad school today. We told each other to have good birthdays and a good rest of the school year. My brother's birthday is in July and I had to tell him to have a good birthday. That is how little I get to see him. T_T

So yeah, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, you beautiful person, you.
